India, Emerging Investment in Spain

The economic boom in India, one of the world’s most important emerging countries over recent years, has been accompanied by a major internationalization process in its multinational companies, which have successfully gone about buying strategic companies in global markets.
A total of 39 Indian companies have an investment presence in Spain, through 100 subsidiaries. Together they account for the creation of 10,000 direct jobs and a very significant amount of indirect employment.

INVEST IN SPAIN takes up Vice-Presidency of World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA)

The Spanish agency was elected to hold the post from 244 investment agencies representing 162 countries. Experts at the annual conference analyzed the energizing role played by foreign direct investment during the current international economic downturn.

Guardian Industries to invest 60 million euros in its Tudela and Llodio Plants

US glass multinational, Guardian, is set to invest 60 million euros in the Spanish market this year.Half the amount has been devoted to setting up a new production line in its Tudela (Navarre) factory.The other 30 million euros will be invested in expanding its Llodio (Avala) plant.

Ryanair to invest 286 million euros opening new base in the El Prat airport

Irish low-cost airline, Ryanair, has announced it will open its 42nd operations base in the El Prat airport in Barcelona on the 1st of September 2010. The new base will handle 5 planes and 20 low-cost routes.
