Vodafone and Ericsson open mobile services technology innovation center

Vodafone and Ericsson have opened a mobile services technology innovation center in Madrid, the Vodafone Ericsson Radio Innovation Centre, in order to promote the development and innovation of radio access technologies, according to information released jointly by the companies.

The centre will prioritize the provision of constant innovation for 2G and 3G networks, and will place a premium on improving the quality of high performance voice and broad band services supplied by Vodafone to clients around the world through Ericsson networks.

According to the director of Vodafone Group Networks, Andy MacLeod, "the center will play an essential role in the development of more efficient and effective radio access technologies“. The vice-president and head of products in Ericsson’s radio area, Ulf Ewaldsson, went on to explain "that the group was very excited to work with Vodafone on solutions that enable the industry to move forward".
