Galicia is an exporter of electricity with power generation at hydro-electric and coal-fired power stations, mini-hydro plants and wind farms. The growth of this sector is driven by wind energy projects and incipient production connected to environmental protection. There is a wide range of investment opportunities in both types of energy source, as well as with the nascent solar power industry and everything else related to the development and conservation of the environment.

Telecommunications

Galicia offers investors in this sector a large modern telecommunications network and office space at much lower prices than cities like Madrid or Barcelona. Our bi-lingual labor force, the descendents of Galicians who emigrated to other parts of Europe, as well as the ease in finding bilingual Spanish Portuguese speakers, allows companies to attend clients in both languages. All this, together with personnel with IT qualifications, has encouraged several foreign companies to set up in Galicia over the last few years.
