The SODERCAN Group and INVEST IN SPAIN join forces to attract foreign investment to Cantabria

José Luis Sánchez, the business Development and Innovation Director of the SODERCAN Group, and Javier Sanz, the Chief Executive of INVEST IN SPAIN, the Government Agency for the Promotion and Attraction of Foreign Investment, belonging to the Secretary of State for Trade at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Spanish government, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote Cantabria abroad, in order to capture and consolidate foreign investment in the region.

The agreement sets up a framework for bilateral cooperation between INVEST IN SPAIN and the SODERCAN group, which includes areas such as information, promotion, investor services and the training of investor capture agents. The agreement signed today will serve as a base so both institutions can coordinate their work to improve the image of Cantabria, and of Spain as a whole, as a destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). They have agreed to promote the image of Spain as a competitive, modern, innovative and increasingly internationalized country.

The two institutions subscribing to the agreement will as a result pursue the complementarity of their respective activities by studying formulas for effective collaboration in order to join forces in working to attract investment and with promotion activities in the most competitive sectors in the Autonomous Region. José Luis Sánchez defined the agreement as “strategic for Cantabria”, since Invest in Spain, the co-signer, has an “important mission, which is to promote, attract and foster foreign investment in Spain, and also in the regions”. The head of the SODERCAN group then explained that, “this agreement is without a doubt, a reference point for foreign investors and constitutes a meeting point for institutions working in state, regional and local environments to promote and attract investment”.
