The Japanese printer firm Ricoh has acquired 100% of the shares in Techno Trends, the Catalan firm that until present had been its commercial partner in Spain. It is thus boosting its workplace digital transformation business internationally and aspires to become the market leader for business collaboration in Spain thanks to its solutions and services for meeting rooms, teleconferencing, audio and video integration and streamlined communications.
These services are in addition to Ricoh's own videoconferencing systems, projectors and cognitive, interactive whiteboards. Techno Trends brings around 300 clients, including some from the Ibex 35, and in 2016 turned over nearly twelve million euro.
Both companies will continue to operate independently but extend their synergy to strengthen business at a time of market growth in international business collaboration, which a MarketsandMarkets report forecasts to double by 2021. The Catalan company will be called Techno Trends, a Ricoh Company, and maintain its staff and offices in Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao.
It is the first purchase by the Ricoh Group in Europe in this subsector. For Ramón Martín, CEO of Ricoh Spain and Portugal, "this operation offers huge growth potential and innovation in the workplace digital transformation sector at the right time for this market, and makes us no.1 in Spain and one of the main players internationally".
Techno Trends CEO Ernest Companys stated: "Techno Trends will continue to specialize in business collaboration with the same commitment to customer service. Supported now by the financial strength, IT infrastructure and international reach of Ricoh, we can undoubtedly reach more customers and offer new and more tailored solutions".
