The Ronal Group has inaugurated the operations of its second plant in Spain, the construction of which began in April last year. The new factory is very close to the first, in Teruel, which has been operating for 34 years at that strategic location for its proximity to the majority of Spain's automobile factories.
The manufacturer of alloy wheels for automobiles and commercial vehicles will significantly increase its production capacity. It will add another 800,000 to reach three million annually, as forecasted by the company in the second half of 2016. The total capacity of the group will increase from 20.5 million to over 21 million wheels per year.
The new opening is part of the Swiss group's expansion plan, which has other factories in Germany, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Mexico and Taiwan. In Spain, it is the supplier of most vehicle manufacturers, including the Volkswagen Group, Ford, PSA (including Opel) and Mercedes.
The second Ronal factory occupies just over 100,000 square meters in a plot of 240,000 meters, and is designed for future expansions. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and machinery, innovative robotics, automation and IT systems.
The investment has exceeded one hundred million euros, as reported in a press release by the Aragón Government, which has contributed a grant of 3.3 million euros within the framework of the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE). In addition to consolidating the 500 existing jobs, it will create another one hundred jobs when operations reach full capacity.
