At the launch of the Christmas edition of Cruzcampo beer at the Jaén plant, Richard Weissend, CEO of Heineken Spain, announced the company's plans to invest in this same facility. Specifically, throughout 2018, Heineken will invest 6.4 million euros in a new canning line and in enlarging its warehouse.
The Heineken plant in La Imora in Jaén is considered the company's benchmark for quality, innovation and sustainability. With the announcement of the new investment, Weissend emphasized Heineken Spain's commitment to Jaén and to this plant, whose production will increase by up to 10%.
According to Weissend, “2018 is going to be a historic year for our group in Jaén. As evidence of our company's firm commitment to this region, in 2018 Heineken Spain will invest 6.4 million euros in a new canning line and extend the warehouse in this plant. An important contribution with which we will increase its competitiveness and its production capacity by 10%, guaranteeing the future of this plant”.
Initiatives for solidarity
The event also served to announce the charity campaign organized jointly by Heineken Spain and the Food Bank to mark the 35th anniversary of the signature Christmas edition of the beer Cruzcampo Navidad. The company has undertaken to donate the same amount of food as it produces hectoliters of this variety, with the goal of ensuring that “All Andalusians can raise a toast in the festive season”.
Heineken Spain also recalled the actions it supports to safeguard the environment in Andalusia, with programs that pursue the goals of sustainability, energy efficiency and saving water.
