The Belgian company Windvision is to construct a wind power production project in the region of Sayago (province of Zamora), according to a press release published by the Provincial Council of Zamora coinciding with a visit by company representatives to the institution, headed up by its founder Johan Vos.
The wind farm will be located on land that overlaps the municipal boundaries of Bermillo de Sayago, Muga de Sayago and Almeida de Sayago. There will be a total of six installations, producing 50 megawatts each. Forecast investment on the construction is around €350 million.
During the construction phase, the new installation will provide jobs for around 200 people. Once it is operational, and for the 25 years of production, the plant will have between 25 and 30 employees.
The President of the Provincial Council of Zamora, Mayte Martín Pozo, thanked those responsible for the business who had decided on Zamora and the Sayago region to implement this sustainable project that will generate jobs in the province. She also offered her institution's assistance in matters within its powers, and proposed using profiles of workers who are being trained in the Polytechnic School of Zamora, which is part of the University of Salamanca.
