The event will take place in the legendary Chrysler building in New York (United States) on 29 September.

The event will be opened by Bruno Fernández, Economic and Trade Counselor for Spain in New York, and Doan Trang Nguyen, Senior Regional Director for North America at IE University.

The Report, which analyzes the trends of these large international investors during 2021, will be presented by the director of Sovereign Wealth Research at the IE Center for the Governance of Change, Javier Capapé.

Subsequently, a high-level panel on global sovereign wealth funds will take place with the participation of Elaine Genser, Director of Associations and Investment Advisor of the United Nations Joint Fund for the SDGs; Daniel Adamson, President and Senior Executive Director of Capital Constellation and Wafra, and Adrián Blanco, Head of the Financing Department and the LATAM-Desk of ICEX-Invest in Spain.

Among other issues, it will address how the events of 2022 will affect the strategies of sovereign wealth funds, after the 2020-2021 period, which set a record for business activity and assets under management, exceeding 10 trillion dollars for the first time. The panel will uncover the responses of SWFs as long-term investors to the pandemic effects, and the recent geopolitical and economic turbulences. The discussion will also showcase the co-investment solutions and paradoxes of SWFs, how countries and companies attract SWF money and the role SWFs can play in achieving sustainable development goals.

The 2021 Sovereign Wealth Fund Report was prepared by the IE University Center for the Governance of Change, in collaboration with ICEX-Invest in Spain, with the participation of internationally renowned experts. At the end of the event, a free copy of the report will be distributed.
