In 2010 Mercedes-Benz presented its 100% electrically powered van based on the Vito light van manufactured in Spain

Mercedes-Benz is a German brand of cars, buses and lorries belonging to Daimler AG (formerly known as Daimler-Benz and DaimlerChrysler).

 

The headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Spain is in Alcobendas (Madrid). Its production plant is in Álava, where it manufactures the “Viano” multi-purpose vehicle, and the “Vito” light van. Mercedes-Benz has a workforce of more than 4,000 in Spain, and annual production of 102,400 vehicles. The brands are Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach.

 

In 2010 Mercedes-Benz presented its 100% electrically powered van based on the Vito light van manufactured in Spain. This vehicle is the first of its kind in the world in its segment semi-equipped with the technology at the plant.

 

The industrial centers of Mercedes-Benz in Vitoria are being adapted to house the new model. The Basque Country Regional Government is actively participating in the new requirements of Mercedes-Benz as regards areas such as logistics, personnel qualifications and production.
