Jiangsu Transportation Institute (JSTI) has reached an agreement to purchase 90% of the shareholding in Eptisa Servicios de Ingeniería, for which it will pay 16 million euros. This is the company's second acquisition transaction outside China, after acquiring the American company TestAmerica in June, which marked the start of a new stage in which it aims to become a global presence. In a previous stage begun in 2012, it acquired another 12 companies in its country of origin.
Eptisa has over 1,700 employees distributed around the world, with subsidiaries and offices in 16 countries. It currently has projects underway in 43 countries, in technologies in the area of water conservation, environment, transport, energy, construction and consulting services for social and economic development.
With this acquisition, Eptisa and JSTI will seek to accelerate their international presence, build a global engineering consulting company and pave the way for Chinese engineering consulting companies to explore Europe, the United States and other important markets.
