Zoho Corporation is a tech company established in India in 1996 which develops Cloud-based business software for virtually all key business areas. It currently serves more than 150 million users with a suite of more than 55 applications, and operates in Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Zoho has followed a fully organic growth model ever since its foundation, and prioritises long-term investment in technology, in-house infrastructure, talent and customer support.
The company has been serving customers in Spain for more than 20 years, and established its physical presence in Valencia in 2021. Last November it opened its new Spanish headquarters in the city, and from where it supports more than 12,000 companies and public institutions in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. This hub also allows it to implement its strategy of promoting the development of self-sufficient local economies through direct investment, training and the creation of high-quality digital and technology jobs.

What has Zoho’s journey been like since you set up in Spain?
Although Zoho had been supporting customers in Spain for more than 20 years, the company established its physical presence in Valencia in 2021 to strengthen its long-term base in Southern Europe, and work more closely with customers and partners in the region. Zoho’s business in Spain has grown by 70% since then, while the company's workforce in the country has increased more than forty-fold. This decision has enabled Zoho to better understand the local market, develop regional talent and offer customers closer support through specialised local teams.
In November, you opened your new headquarters in Valencia. What does your transnational localism strategy consist of?
At Zoho, we describe our approach as “global growth without losing the local connection”. Rather than concentrating our operations in a few major capitals, we are committed to building strong local teams and integrating naturally into regional ecosystems over the long term. In Spain, this approach has meant working closely with local teams, partners and organisations such as the Chambers of Commerce in Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona, the Mediterranean Marketing Club, the Innovation Club in the Valencian Community, the Aslan Association and entrepreneurial ecosystems such as Lanzadera, through initiatives such as Zoho for Startups.
What figures and initiatives is that strategy yielding in Spain?
Zoho’s strategy in Spain combines long-term investment in local operations, talent development and collaboration with the business ecosystem. In 2025, the company stepped up this commitment with the opening of its new headquarters in central Valencia, a facility with more than 1000 square metres designed to support the continued growth of its operations in Southern Europe. Since setting up in Valencia, the company has continued to significantly expand its local workforce, while continuing to invest in training, digital capabilities and digitisation initiatives across Spain. This includes collaborations with chambers of commerce, startup accelerators, universities and support for thousands of companies and public institutions in their digital transformation processes.
How important is Spain for the company’s strategy?
From Valencia, the company supports customers and partners in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and other markets. In the last two years alone, Zoho’s business in Spain has grown by 43%, while its local partner ecosystem has expanded by around 20%, strengthening Spain’s position within Zoho’s strategy for Southern Europe, and helping to provide closer support tailored to customers’ operational and technological needs.
How many employees do you have?
Zoho currently has 45 staff members in Spain, based mainly in Valencia. The team combines local talent with international profiles that support the company’s operations in Southern Europe. The team in Spain includes professionals in areas such as customer service, sales, marketing, communications, digital operations and business support functions.
What significant investments have you made in our country?
Zoho’s most significant investment in Spain has been the development of Valencia as a long-term operational hub supporting both the Spanish market and also the company’s operations in Southern Europe. This investment has gone beyond infrastructure, including the expansion of local teams, customer-focused operations and regional capabilities, enabling Zoho to support more than 12,000 organisations in Spain. In line with this effort, Zoho also organises Zoholics in Spain, which is one of the company’s largest global events for customers and partners, designed to promote training, networking and the practical exchange of technological knowledge. In 2025, this event held in Madrid brought together more than 600 professionals from the technology sector.
What is your customer profile?
Zoho works with organisations of all sizes in Spain, from startups and SMEs to large companies, multinationals and public institutions across multiple sectors. Our customers include Generandi, Grupo Colón IECM, Namencis Education, Cooltra and Perfecta Energía. Many organisations in Spain are looking to reduce operational fragmentation, improve visibility across departments and simplify day-to-day management, among other challenges. This is whycustomers particularly value our ability to offer integrated, scalable solutions that can be adapted both to large organisations with complex operational needs, and to somewhat smaller organisations looking for accessible, easy-to-manage technology solutions.
What significant projects have you developed with local customers?
We support organisations in Spain in projects relating to digitisation, operational integration and business process optimisation, with AI capabilities integrated into many of the applications used in these initiatives. We have for example helped a large industrial group unify its sales, finance and human resources operations, enabling its sales teams to save between four and five hours per employee per week, while improving real-time operational visibility. In another case, a well-known Spanish education group replaced fragmented spreadsheets and disconnected tools with an integrated enterprise platform, enabling it to achieve annual growth of 117% over the past three years, and significantly improve the organisation's scalability and profitability.
