The programme was born in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, co-financed with the European Union's Next Generation funds. The objective pursued with this Plan was to carry out structural reforms that would allow: on the one hand, a change in the productive model for the recovery of the economy after the pandemic caused by COVID-19; and, on the other hand, a transformation towards a more resilient structure that would allow our model to successfully face other possible crises or challenges in the future. Within this framework, two calls for proposals were published for a total amount of €10 million in grants awarded to 19 companies.

Given the good results obtained, the programme will be continued with new calls within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the period 2021-2027. The programme has an initial financial allocation of €10.8 million for this period, which will be allocated to investment projects of more than €500,000, with a maximum support per beneficiary of €800,000. These projects will be selected on a competitive basis according to the criteria set out in the call for proposals (entrepreneurial capacity, impact on employment, contribution to the green and digital transition, etc.). The intensity of the aid will depend on the type of project and the size of the company, ranging from 25% to 50% of the investment executed.
