Quest Global reinforces commitment to Spanish shipbuilding industry

The company opens an office in the Cadiz Free Trade Zone, creating over 60 new jobs

The engineering firm Quest Global is continuing its commitment to the Spanish maritime industry and has announced the start of work to adapt an office in the Cadiz Free Trade Zone. The Indian company, which already works directly at the Navantia shipyard facilities located in San Fernando and Puerto Real, now has its own space where it expects to create over 60 jobs.

According to the company, “This is a commitment that will allow us to continue offering a quality, local service with greater capacities in the maritime industry, but one which will also boost activities in other industries, such as the automotive and aerospace sectors”.

Highly-qualified employees
The Free Trade Zone, which owns the Europa building where the offices will be located, estimates that the arrival of Quest Global will generate up to 97 highly-skilled jobs. The office actually has space for 67 people, but its scalability, within a building shared with other companies, could give it the capacity to grow to 200 employees within two to three years.

According to the Free Trade Zone, this move by Quest Global brings it closer to the public company Navantia, with which it aims to increase its business volume. It will in addition seek to strengthen its presence in the automotive sector with its sustainable mobility services. It will also promote its activities in digitalisation, robotics, automation and production engineering for companies in the aerospace industry.

Innovation and technological development
The Spanish Government’s representative in the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, has added the arrival of Quest Global to that of Rospa engineering and French multinational Capgemini’s Intelligent Industry Lab, and pointed out, “In just two weeks, the Cadiz Free Trade Zone has welcomed three leading projects in innovation and technological development. This confirms the Consortium's capacity to attract talent and create a highly competitive business fabric, one with which we are managing to connect the most traditional industries in our free trade zone with an innovative and sustainable model”.

Focused on attracting blue economy, innovation and technology projects, González concluded, “The arrival of companies like Quest Global reinforces our commitment to continue working to create the conditions and opportunities for retaining highly-qualified talent in our province. The commitment to the blue economy, with the Incubazul project as its hallmark, is making it possible to open up new technological and business lines directly linked to this industry and to open up all the opportunities offered by the sea as a source of wealth and employment.”
