It will support the 24 markets in which the German online bank is present.

The Spanish headquarters of the German online bank N26 has relocated in Madrid to a new 2000-square-metre building that will also house its second European operations hub. The move is not only due to the addition of this new centre, but also to the growth the institution has experienced in recent years in Spain, which has expanded its workforce to 450 professionals across Madrid and Barcelona.

With the opening of this new space, N26 aims to consolidate its commitment to the Spanish market and strengthen its operational capabilities. The new operations hub will integrate oversight functions, customer service and other operational roles, and will not only support the business in Spain, but will also serve all 24 European markets in which the bank is present.

Leading financial platform
As for the headquarters of the Spanish subsidiary, the new offices integrate the areas of general management, strategy and operations, marketing, communication, legal, regulatory compliance, and the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The goal of N26 is to offer a tailored digital banking experience that makes it the go-to financial platform in Spain, both for managing day-to-day finances and for building long-term wealth.

The bank, which holds a German banking licence, offers services ranging from investments in active funds to ETFs, cryptocurrencies and shares, as well as savings, spending, personal loans, joint accounts and self-employed accounts.

Promising growth phase
N26’s General Manager for Spain and Portugal, Antón Díez Tubet, stated that Spain is “one of the company’s four key markets and the second-fastest growing”, and added, “With over one million customers and a team of 450 professionals spread across Madrid and Barcelona, we are in an excellent position to continue growing and to further establish ourselves as the leading alternative to traditional banking in our country. The opening of our new headquarters and the company’s second operations hub symbolises the start of a new and promising growth phase in which Madrid, as a magnet for financial and digital talent, will play an important role.”

The building housing N26’s new headquarters was restored in 2017 and has been awarded LEED Platinum sustainability certification.
