XCharge opens first European battery plant in Valencia
The plant joins the technical center and warehouse inaugurated in Madrid in September 2025.
U.S. company Xcharge has opened its first assembly line in Europe in Silla (Valencia). The facilities span an area of nearly 3,000 square meters, where high-power charging stations for electric vehicles and energy storage systems will be produced to help meet the growing demand for these products in the European market.
The new assembly plant has been integrated into the ecosystem of innovation and industrial facilities that XCharge has launched in the European Union, including its two testing laboratories in Hamburg (Germany) and Madrid. The company expects to reach full capacity over the course of the next year.
European R&D Network
Madrid’s technical center, together with a warehouse opened in September 2025, will become part of a European R&D network that the company will use to carry out rigorous testing, design tailored solutions, and drive innovation across the continent. XCharge, which has been operating in the European market since 2017, is thereby strengthening its regional presence and bolstering Spain’s role as a key strategic market.
At the Silla plant, XCharge will assemble equipment from its most advanced product line, such as the GridLink system, which delivers nearly 200 kW power with just 44 kW of grid input thanks to its patented battery, enabling ultra-fast charging to be deployed without modifying the electrical installation. The charger can also operate independently during power outages.
Resilient, efficient, and sustainable
XCharge Head of Europe Albina Iljasov described the Silla plant as “the industrial link that completes XCharge’s expansion in Spain and brings to life our commitment to a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable European supply chain.”
XCharge Europe Head of Sales Javier Lázaro, explained that this opening “is not just an operational decision, but a long-term commitment. We want to make Spain a leading industrial and energy hub. The Valencian Community offers us a unique combination of talent, renewable energies, and business activity.”
The company also underscores its commitment to reindustrialization, high-value-added investment in key sectors, the creation of skilled jobs, and decarbonization goals. With global headquarters in Hamburg (Germany) and Austin (Texas), nearly one-third of the 9,000 chargers XCharge has installed worldwide are in operation across the EU.
