The Spanish Secretary of State for Trade-ICEX´s Directorate for Catalonia, CEJE (Council of Spanish-Japanese Companies) and CASA ASIA, with the co-operation of Invest in Spain, is organising a conference on the opportunities offered by Spain for Japanese companies and investors. The event will take place on 19 January at the Cuatrecasas Auditorium in Barcelona, but can also be followed online.

The Executive Director of ICEX-Invest in Spain, Elisa García Grande, will participate in the round table entitled "Investing in Spain: institutional support". The event will be ended by the Secretary of State for Trade, Xiana Méndez.

The conference is of unquestionable interest to all companies with economic and commercial ties to Japan, as well as to Japanese investors and companies that are considering investing in Spain, or that intend to increase an existing investment in our country.

Japan is the third largest economy in the world in terms of GDP, with a population of more than 125 million inhabitants, high purchasing power and considerable political stability, making it a potential investor of the first magnitude.

For its part, the Spanish economy has many strengths. The country has an open and dynamic economy with one of the least restrictive foreign investment regulations internationally; it is a strategic hub with a high-end infrastructure system; well-trained human capital; taxation incentives; and a huge market that extends far above its population, to the whole European Union´s market, with strong economic links in Latin America, the Mediterranean and Middle East countries; not to mention the many visitors that come to the country each year, making it top destination for tourism and business worldwide.

The conference is free of charge, will be held in English and can be attended in person or online.
