ICEX and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Prague, in collaboration with Auto-SAP (Association of the Automotive Industry of the Czech Republic), are organizing this ICEX virtual conference on 22 April 2026 with the aim of strengthening ties between the Spanish and Czech automotive sectors, promoting business opportunities and facilitating the transfer of technology and knowledge.

WHY PARTICIPATE

The automotive industry is a strategic pillar of both the Czech and Spanish economies, contributing significantly to employment, exports and industrial competitiveness. In addition, the sector is undergoing a profound transformation driven by innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and the transition to decarbonisation.

At the same time, this sector constitutes a solid and lasting link between the two countries, with a relevant Spanish industrial presence in the Czech Republic and growing collaboration in innovation and R&D. Spain has a highly competitive and innovation-oriented automotive sector, which has made significant advances in digitalisation, sustainability and advanced technologies throughout the entire value chain (advanced materials, digitalisation, automated mobility or artificial intelligence). In this context, this ICEX conference will present innovative Spanish technological solutions that can complement the current digital and sustainable transition of the Czech automotive industry, fostering closer collaboration between companies, technology centres and sector associations from this industry both countries.

This activity is part of a series of meetings that ICEX is promoting on the automotive industry in Central Europe, with conferences planned in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The region has a strong industrial base in the automotive sector, with the presence of international manufacturers and a highly specialized supply chain, which creates opportunities for technological and industrial collaboration.
