Capgemini opens cybersecurity and cloud services centres in Malaga

These will complement each other to boost digital transformation while taking care of infrastructure

Capgemini has opened an office in the Andalusia Technology Park in Malaga. These new facilities, which were opened on 30 May, consist of a centre specialised in cyber defence and another that will be equipped to provide cloud services.

The Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) will join the French multinational's international network of cyber defence centres, which consists of fourteen facilities. These include the Asturias CDC, which specialises in cloud and industrial solutions. The Malaga centre will focus on cybersecurity services related to artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, ERP security and incident response.

Critical infrastructure protection
Capgemini's CDCs are focused on data protection and threat intelligence to help organisations around the world secure their processes. Malaga will play a key role in protecting critical infrastructures, not only in Spain but throughout the world.

The work of the Malaga CDC will serve to secure system environments, applications and data processing products. It will also seek to respond to the growing demand for protection through zero trust strategy. It will therefore offer Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) services with embedded AI.

Cloud centre opportunities
The other centre in the new office will provide specialised cloud technology services to enable national and international companies to access the opportunities offered by this technology, with the aim of creating a smart industry. Optimising business and improving customer experience and business management are some of the advantages that the cloud can bring.

Complementing the CDC, the cloud centre will serve customers in strategic sectors, including those with infrastructures that are considered critical to the functioning of society, such as energy, healthcare, finance, defence and industry.

Innovative services
Capgemini's CEO of Cloud Services and Infrastructure, Nive Bhagat, explained, "By opening this new centre in Spain, we’re once again demonstrating our commitment to offering our customers innovative cloud and cybersecurity services, reinforcing our global knowledge combined with local approaches and cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, zero trust strategy and infrastructure as code to maximise and protect their businesses.”

Luis Abad, CEO of Capgemini Spain, added, "The opening of this new centre is another step in Capgemini's strategy in Spain for the coming years, leveraging innovative and value-added services to accelerate our clients’ digital transformation. On the other hand, it shows our commitment to the development of digital talent in the Spanish market by offering professional opportunities in a diverse, innovative and international environment.”
