Citigroup opens European banking analyst hub in Málaga

The company has already started the selection process for full-time staff and summer interns

US bank Citi has started the selection process for full-time analysts for its new European junior banking analytics group in Málaga. It is also offering several summer internships. This was announced by Citigroup’s Global Co-Head of Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory, Manolo Falcó, on LinkedIn.

The aim of the Málaga hub is to train new bankers who will then strengthen the company’s investment banking centres in the future. The creation of this office does in addition aim to become a focal point for talent attraction thanks to the proposal of a differentiated entry route to investment banking.

A unique working model
With respect to the professional social network, Falcó stated that, “The new hub in Málaga offers a unique working model, designed to support our growth sectors and give successful applicants an attractive lifestyle-oriented proposition.”

According to reports from different local, regional and national media outlets, this is a reference to the attractiveness of the Andalusian city, with its climate, cultural and leisure offerings, good transport links and growing appeal on the business scene.

Key strategic materials
The Citigroup website is also advertising open senior analyst positions, offering: “a balanced work culture to allow you to enjoy the other passions in your life.” The new Málaga analysts will provide assistance to the EMEA banking teams by building key strategic materials to support the execution of equity offerings and debt issuance.

According to media reports on this proposal, the new workforce will consist of 30 people and the hub is currently scheduled to operate for a trial period of one year.
