The Innova Invest Programme has supported nine R&D initiatives to be carried out in the Basque Country, Catalonia, Galicia, Castilla la Mancha, Valencia and Madrid. The activities funded include software, robotics, AI, blockchain and green hydrogen initiatives

ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, via Invest in Spain, has decided on the recipients of the latest Innova Invest programme grants, whose goal is to promote R&D activities undertaken by foreign companies. The aim is to encourage the implementation of new innovative activities, both by foreign companies wishing to establish themselves in Spain, and foreign companies already established that intend to launch and carry out R&D activities. For the purposes of this call for proposals, a foreign company is considered to be a company with a foreign direct investment share of 50% or more.

On this occasion, the programme has benefited nine projects to be implemented throughout Spain – in the Basque Country, Catalonia, Galicia, Castilla la Mancha, Valencia and Madrid. The total sum allocated to the call for proposals was €4,839,204.64. The maximum grant amount is €800,000 per beneficiary.

The selected projects include R&D activities relating to software, robotics, electric vehicle components, digital printing platforms, bio-processing of cultured meat, artificial intelligence, blockchain and green hydrogen. The initiatives supported must be carried out before 30 June 2023.

The Innova Invest programme is supported by the EU-funded Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation).
