Matillion opens engineering centre of excellence in Madrid

The aim of the new engineering team is to keep on innovating, and improving the company's solutions

For one day, on 11 July, paella, Spanish omelette and croquettes were the stars at Matillion's offices in Manchester (England, UK) and Denver (Colorado, USA). The occasion marked the opening of a new office in Madrid for the British firm, which specialises in enterprise data integration platforms.

The new Spanish office, in the heart of the capital, is designed to attract tech talent and build a team of engineers to help innovate Matillion's products. The firm’s raison d'être is to make its clients' data useful across the company.

Business Technology Hub
Matillion's Chief Engineering Officer, Naggi Asmar, explained the choice of the Spanish capital, "Madrid is a hub for enterprise technology companies and engineering talent, which is the right environment for us to find excellent team members, professionals looking to work for a high-growth company." He also added, “At Matillion, we value different perspectives and we are excited to strengthen our team with brilliant engineers in a new city”.

There are still open positions at Matillion.com/about/careers for software engineers and developers. The company arrives in Spain endorsed by international accolades, such as the Great Place to Work award acknowledging the firm as one of the 290 Best Workplaces in the UK, and a recognition from Inc. Magazine as one of the best places to work in the United States - both from this year.

The software platform became a unicorn in 2021 after closing two triple-digit funding rounds that brought its total value to 1.5 billion dollars. The company grew its global workforce to over 500 employees in the last financial year.
