Swedish Telecom opens office at Mediterranean Tech Hub in Malaga

The company plans to hire a large workforce of senior Spanish and international experts

The technology company Swedish Telecom has opened a new office in the Mediterranean Tech Hub in Malaga. The aim of setting up this office in the Andalusian city is to enhance its reputation among companies in the information technology (IT) sector, to foster new business relationships with other multinationals in this field and to improve its knowledge of Europe's technology industry.

For Swedish Telecom, Malaga has become the Silicon Valley of the Mediterranean, and its presence in the city opens the door to global markets. It will offer its consultancy services from the new office to other technology firms that have chosen southern Spain to set up their offices.

Job creation
Swedish Telecom CEO, Josef Vidstrom, has announced his intention to recruit a large pool of senior Spanish and international experts to work in the new Malaga office. The company, founded in 2004, offers its specialist smart city and internet of things (IoT) solutions to system integrators, operators, vertical companies, IT departments and data centres.

Vidstrom said, "We are excited to meet the needs and demands of new clients in the region by offering our experience and expertise in various areas of technology, particularly in specialised senior consulting and interim projects, thus contributing to making the vision of Malaga Silicon Valley a reality.”

Pole of attraction
Malaga has become a magnet for many companies that choose it as a gateway for opening their businesses in Spain, or even in Europe. For Swedish Telecom, it was the best option, even if it is not the only new technology centre currently attracting attention. The Swedish multinational has established a reputation as a mature business, working with local start-ups but also large international companies, such as Vodafone, Google, AWS, Ericsson and TDK.

The city's long-term strategy of economic diversification has been another factor in attracting Swedish Telecom, as well as its location and accessibility, ideal for hosting all kinds of international events, and its hotel capacity for hosting visitors.
