Orizon Seafoods opens office in Vigo to achieve growth in Europe

This is its second subsidiary outside Chile, and the company is aiming to triple its turnover on the continent

Fishing company Orizon Seafoods has announced the forthcoming opening of a new office in the Port of Vigo (Pontevedra), from where it wants to strengthen its presence in Europe. In figures, the Chilean company wants to go from the two million dollars it sold on the continent in 2022 to generating revenues of six million dollars, in line with its expectations.

This is the second phase of Orizon Seafoods' international expansion, following the opening of a subsidiary in Miami (Florida, USA). The fishing company is looking to expand its market for horse mackerel, which it mainly exports to Africa currently. As Orizon's Commercial Manager, Juan Pablo Vaccaro, explained, “What we want to do today is strengthen our presence by selling value-added frozen food”.

New production plant
As part of the same expansion process, Orizon has just opened a new production plant for premium horse mackerel. With this new facility, it will be able to increase production sixfold to 200 cans per minute. It also has another plant under construction.

Orizon Seafoods is a subsidiary of the Chilean group Empresas Copec, which was founded in 1934 to operate in the fuel marketing and distribution business. It is currently active in other industries, such as mining, cellulose and renewable energy.
