ICEX Spain Export and Investment launches the Asia Audiovisual Antenna (AAA), based in Singapore

The initiative will be managed by Akanga Film Asia, an independent production consultancy company selected through a competitive bidding process.
ICEX Spain Export and Investment, through the Spanish Trade Office in Singapore, announces the creation of the Audiovisual Antenna Asia (AAA), based in Singapore. The aim of this project is twofold: to attract filming and co-productions with Spain and to promote Spanish content in Asia, including films, series, animation and documentaries.
Through activities such as film screenings, exhibitions, conferences and cultural events, the Antenna will contribute to the visibility and appreciation of Spanish creativity in Asia. It will also facilitate links between film professionals, artists and audiences from both regions, enriching the cultural and artistic landscape for mutual benefit.
The project also aims to improve the positioning of Spain as a production country and as a destination for filming, real and digital image post-production and investment in the audiovisual sector.
Akanga Film Asia, selected
Singapore-based independent production company Akanga Film Asia has been selected as the Spanish audiovisual antenna in Asia, following a tender process launched by the Spanish Economic and Trade Office in Singapore. Akanga's founder and executive producer, Fran Borgia, has been appointed as consultant for the Spanish audiovisual sector in Asia. Borgia will work with a team with extensive experience in the audiovisual sector, notably Malaysian producer Lorna Tee.
Akanga will also work closely with cultural institutions, film festivals and other relevant stakeholders to promote the creativity and diversity of Spanish cinema in Asia.
In addition, the Antenna will work closely with the already established ICEX Audiovisual Antenna in Los Angeles, strengthening the global presence of Spanish cinema.
