Galderma opens a Global Capacity centre in Barcelona, the only one of its kind in Europe

The new 1,500-square metre facility already employs more than 110 people.
Pharmaceutical company Galderma, specialised in dermatology and dermocosmetics, recently opened its new Global Capability Center, located in Barcelona. As Invest In Spain announced in January 2023, the Swiss company decided to launch this global capacity centre in order to support its international growth and become the leading dermatology company worldwide.
With this initiative, Galderma is reinforcing its presence in the Catalan capital, where CEO Flemming Ørnskov highlighted the ease of finding talent, world-class educational institutions and a lifestyle that "makes it the perfect place to support our ongoing growth".
Diverse team
The new offices of the Swiss pharmaceutical company are located in the city centre, in the Eixample district, and occupy a total of 1,500 square metres. More than 110 people are already working at the facility, and the forecast is to reach 150 employees. It is, the company stresses, a diverse team from 22 countries that supports the global teams in research and development, commercial, finance, human resources, information technology, legal and supply chain.
As Flemming Ørnskov pointed out, "Our Global Capability Center in Barcelona is now fully operational, with high-performing teams and diverse talents that truly reflect Galderma's brand and purpose. With an exceptional level of collaboration and strongly driven by results and dynamism, this group is a catalyst for our growth trajectory as we work to expand our leadership in the dermatology category.
The global training centre in Barcelona is the only one planned by the group in Europe. The company, founded in 1981, employs more than 6,500 people worldwide. It has a presence in more than 90 countries and production plants in Canada, Sweden, France and Brazil.
