Oshkosh Corporation strengthens Spain presence for further growth

After four years of partnership, it is acquiring Spain's AUSA, with 350 employees and subsidiaries in five countries

Construction industry vehicle and machinery manufacturer Oshkosh Corporation has reached an agreement to acquire Spanish company AUSA, which specialises in the production of wheel dumpers, all-terrain forklifts and telehandlers for the construction, material handling, agriculture, landscaping, and specialised equipment industries.

The relationship between the two companies began in 2020 through a partnership agreement, whereby AUSA began manufacturing the JLG-branded SkyTrak 3013 compact telehandler. The Catalan brand will now become part of the US company's Oshkosh Access segment, with the aim of improving the JLG telehandler line. It will also produce Hinowa-brand dumpers and tracked forklifts.

Innovating, serving and advancing
Oshkosh Corporation president and CEO John Pfeifer said that AUSA's history as a manufacturer of "high-quality, purpose-built equipment aligns with our Innovate. Serve. Advance strategy, meaning we can expand our product range in both existing and adjacent markets.”

Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and Access president Mahesh Narang added, “The combination of our advanced technology capabilities and our strong training, support and service infrastructures will enable us to better serve customers and provide targeted growth.”

Accelerated growth
AUSA general manager, Ramón Carbonell did in turn explain, “We constantly strive for excellence in our products, services and business," adding that a deeper relationship with Oshkosh "will broaden the reach of our products, which is a shared goal of our companies.”

The deal is part of Oshkosh Corporation's accelerated growth strategy and is expected to close within three months. The company, founded in 1956 in Barcelona, will then be fully integrated into the US company. It brings sales of around 132 million euros in 2023 to its new owner.

Today, AUSA has a workforce of around 350 employees and a network of 600 distributors. Headquartered in Manresa, it operates in ninety countries and has an office in Madrid and subsidiaries in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and China.
