Pemberton launches Invensa platform with Santander CIB

The firm wants to streamline inventory management and financing – a trillion-dollar market.
UK private credit manager Pemberton has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) to launch Invensa, a global platform for supply chain inventory management and solutions for large and medium-sized companies. This fast-growing market has already achieved a global volume of one trillion dollars.
In recent years there have been numerous disruptions to supply chains due to factors as diverse as pandemics, geopolitical tensions and a changing macroeconomic environment. That is why ensuring the strength of supply chains has become an essential issue for multinational companies of different sizes, and is at the same time one of the main priorities for top management.
Supply of key goods and raw materials
The new platform aims to provide innovative stock management solutions that help ensure greater resilience in ensuring the supply of key goods and raw materials. It will combine the capabilities and expertise of Santander's corporate and institutional clients division in the trade finance segment with Pemberton's non-bank working capital solutions.
The planned launch of Invensa is subject to the relevant regulatory approvals. The proposal for marketing this solution involves a modal shift in supply chains from a just-in-time approach to a just-in-case vision. Its creators thus believe that it will make inventory management and financing operationally efficient and flexible on a large scale.
Changing global needs
As Pemberton CEO Symon Drake-Brockman said, "The partnership between Santander CIB and Pemberton brings together two companies at the forefront of their respective markets. This joint offering strategically positions us to deliver innovative inventory management solutions that address the evolving needs of companies and their supply chains globally.”
José M. Linares, Global Head of Santander CIB, also gave his explanation of this development, “As a leading player in the field of trade and working capital, it is essential for us to offer a full range of services for end-to-end management of our customers' working capital, where inventory solutions play a major role. We have over ten years’ experience of supporting companies in this segment, and this alliance with Pemberton will allow us to establish ourselves as a long-term partner to our customers by offering a service that is becoming increasingly crucial.”
