Technique Solaire accelerates expansion in Spain with new acquisitions

Since 2022, it has invested 494 million euros in Spain, where it expects to reach 600 megawatts of capacity by 2030

Renewable energy producer Technique Solaire has taken a new step in its international expansion strategy with the purchase of eight ready-to-build projects in Spain, with a capacity of 32 megawatt peak. When they become operational, expected to be early next year, they will bring the capacity of the French group's Spanish portfolio to 400MWp.

Technique Solaire describes Spain as one of the most promising European markets for solar PV, thanks to its excellent solar irradiation and mature industry. Its interest in growing strategically in Spain has led to the appointment of Ignacio Rebollo as director of the Spanish branch.

Targets for 2030
Rebollo will oversee the development of the eight new projects, which will produce 63 gigawatt hours of electricity annually, equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 40,800 inhabitants in the area. He will also be responsible for accelerating the group's expansion in Spain, backed by more than twenty years of experience and his extensive knowledge of the Iberian Peninsula.

Founded in 2008, Technique Solaire specialises in the development, financing, construction and operation of renewable energy production units, mainly solar and methanation. It arrived in Spain in 2022, and its goal is to exceed 600 megawatt peak of installed capacity by 2030, for which it has invested 494 million euros to date.

One more milestone
The deal was announced at the same time as the opening of the group's first floating solar power plant in the Netherlands (in the picture). Co-Founder and General Manager in charge of development, Thomas de Moussac, and Head of International Development, Vincent Griffon, said, "These recent acquisitions represent an important step forward in our ambition to become a leading global energy company. They strengthen our positions in the Netherlands and Spain and mark a further milestone towards our goal of reaching four gigawatt peak by 2030."

Regarding their strategy in Spain, they explained, "In this context of sustained growth, we are delighted to welcome Ignacio Rebollo to lead our operations in Spain. His experience will be invaluable in advancing our projects in the region. Through these achievements, Technique Solaire is confirming its key role in the energy and agricultural transition, actively contributing to a more sustainable future."
