Zhenshi to manufacture wind turbine components in Cádiz

The investment could reach 270 million euros and will generate up to 400 jobs.

Chinese group Zhenshi is making progress in the construction of a fibreglass components factory for wind turbines in Puerto Real (Cádiz). The company bought the Airbus plant in this town located in the Bay of Cadiz when the aerospace company reorganised its assets and announced that it would be moving these facilities to the ones it has in neighbouring Puerto de Santa Maria.

The first announcement of the sale and purchase took place at the beginning of March. Since then, there has been talk of an investment of around 45 million euros and the potential creation of around 300 jobs, which has grown to 400 as the months have gone by. The company has also increased the investment figure, which could eventually reach 270 million euros.

In 2009, the Zhenshi Group created the subsidiary Zhenshi Spain with the aim of expanding and increasing its global market share. The Madrid-based subsidiary (pictured) sells composite materials, fibreglass, glass-fibre reinforced  materials and new construction materials.

In September 2023, the company created Zhenshi Spain New Materials to manufacture fibreglass, based at its facilities in Puerto Real.
