Pilatus secures land for Seville aircraft plant

The company has acquired two plots in the Carmona Logistics Park for 10 million euros and plans to create around 500 jobs in the medium term.
The Directorate General of the Andalusian Housing and Rehabilitation Agency (AVRA) has approved the final award to the aircraft company Pilatus Aircraft Ibérica of two plots of land located in the Carmona Logistics Park (Seville). The plots, designated for industrial use, were jointly put out for tender by AVRA and the Carmona Development Society (Sodecar), for sale as a single lot, and which was won by the only bid submitted, amounting to 10,000,078.90 euros.
The two plots, measuring 71,610 and 25,497 square metres respectively, will allow the project to be implemented by the Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss company, which specialises in manufacturing private jets and military aircraft.
In April 2024, Pilatus announced the incorporation of this subsidiary and its intention to open a production plant in Seville, which could employ up to 500 people in the medium term.
Recruitment process
Seeking greater vertical integration to improve its production processes, delivery times and quality standards, Pilatus plans to start production of structures and wiring in Carmona for its PC-24 model, which seats up to six passengers and is also available in a medevac version complete with stretchers for rescue missions.
The PC-24 is the world’s first business jet designed for use on short, unpaved runways. The company also produces the PC-12 single-engine turboprop and the PC-21 and PC-7 MKX pilot training systems, and their associated simulators.
The subsidiary is currently in the process of recruiting new staff to fill the first positions at its new plant.
