Thomas Cook opens a new office in Palma de Mallorca

The new facilities will house 700 people, counting both present employees and 325 new hires

The holiday group Thomas Cook has reinforced its commitment to the island of Majorca with the inauguration of its new offices, which will house around 700 people, according to the group's chief of product and operations, Chris Mottershead, minutes before he unveiled a commemorative plaque of the event.

Majorca is the British group's most popular destination, and its new offices will have space for several operating departments. In addition to the current employees, 325 new jobs will be created in roles essentially related to the financial department.

The hiring process is open
Since September 2017, Thomas Cook has increased its workforce by over 200 employees as it expands the services it plans to provide from Palma to the rest of the group. The process for hiring candidates for several key positions in the new office is currently open.

Chris Mottershead said at the inauguration: “I’m delighted to open officially our new Palma office which represents a strong sign of commitment from Thomas Cook for the island of Majorca. This has always been a hugely important destination for us and I’m proud of the strong industry and supplier relationships we have here. It’s great we’ve been able to recruit so many talented people from the island to join our team, and we hope more great people will take a look at the roles we have on offer to join a business which is a real leader in its industry”.
