Entrix drives global growth with Spanish operations launch
Its goal is to promote the integration of battery storage across Europe.
German flexible energy systems company Entrix has taken a new step in its international expansion with the start of operations in Spain and Portugal, which it will manage from its new office in Madrid. Its goal is to promote the integration of battery storage across Europe, especially in markets with strong growth in renewable energy.
The arrival on the Spanish market comes at a time when the national portfolio of storage projects exceeds 36 GW, more than 20of which already have grid connection points. Entrix, which has its own rapidly growing portfolio, currently manages more than 50 battery storage assets, exceeding 2.5 GW of capacity and producing more than 7.2 GWh per year in Germany, Poland and Italy.
AI-based solution
Entrix's artificial intelligence-based marketing solution optimises battery storage systems in real time across all major electricity markets. This includes ancillary services and intraday and day-ahead trading. It also complements its offering with comprehensive services such as asset sizing, technical integration and continuous monitoring.
The company works on both standalone battery storage projects and co-location projects combined with solar power plants. In Spain, it plans to specifically target project developers, utility companies and infrastructure investors to offer them storage solutions that improve flexibility and complement their existing assets.
Advancing the energy transition
Entrix CEO Steffen Schülzchen said, ‘Spain and Portugal are key markets in Entrix's European expansion. We believe our technology can play a critical role in advancing the energy transition in the region by contributing to the creation of a robust storage market that improves grid stability and flexibility, as well as the profitability of storage investments.’
Juan Galiardo, who has taken on the operational management of the company for Spain and Portugal as regional director, explained ‘The combination of ambitious market expansion, a high share of solar energy and growing demand for storage makes the region one of the fastest-growing markets in Europe. Entrix's trading solution offers the intelligence and flexibility needed to maximise the economic potential of these projects.’
