Lyzer starts Spanish operations through Rising UP in Spain

The Portuguese company is to open an office in Madrid and hire 13 professionals this year.

The Portuguese logistics platform Lyzer has opened an office in Spain and has joined the ICEX Rising UP in Spain programme, which it describes as “an important milestone in our expansion path”. Spain is in fact the first country involved in its internationalisation process, and through which the company wants to transform logistics operations throughout Europe.

Created in 2020 as a means to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company has evolved rapidly and launched its Logistics-as-a-Service (LaaS) platform in 2024, offering innovative operational and technological solutions for retail and e-commerce.

Strong infrastructure for technological development
The company explains that its commitment to Spain is due to “the most outstanding aspects of the innovative Information and Communications Technology ecosystem in Spain, such as the strong government support for startups, the solid infrastructure for technological development and a vibrant community of investors and innovators”.

For the time being, Lyzer has started working in Spain with Portuguese customers who operate in our country. Making use of the resources, network and experience of the Rising UP in Spain programme, the company will try to offer the same services throughout Spain with the same success as it has achieved in its home country.

Employment generation
This year, the company plans to hire a country manager, a growth manager, an operations director and 10 other professionals, and it will open an office in Madrid. As Lyzer's Co-Founder and CEO, Nuno Serradas Duarte, told Jornal Económico, “expanding to Spain is a natural step on our path to growth”. His vision, he added, “is to provide businesses with the flexibility and efficiency they need to grow in a scalable way”.

Lyzer integrates the different needs of companies into a single platform as part of their logistics operations, in order to optimise their supply chain. Thanks to its approach to simplifying the order management process, its solutions support the growth of companies without compromising their operations, bringing them quality and greater agility.

Optimised order centre
The platform has an optimised order centre that allows orders from all sales channels to be consolidated with simplified management. Its intelligent tasking tool provides efficiency and high performance thanks to an algorithm that dynamically assigns tasks based on real-time demand and resource availability.

According to the company, order picking is 52% more efficient; route and delivery optimisation, including multiple delivery options and the use of unbranded vehicles, achieves resource savings of 18%; and successful adoption of its technology and functions can reduce time spent on queries and other interactions by up to 70%.

Rising UP in Spain is a programme for attracting technology talent aimed at foreign startups and scaleups undergoing internationalisation processes. Its objective is to support companies that are looking to scale their business and consider Spain and Europe to be strategic destinations for their growth.
