McDonald’s plans 200 openings in Spain and 10,000 jobs over 4 years

The chain plans to hire 6,500 people to cover the summer season at its 630 restaurants in Spain.
American fast food chain McDonald’s has announced that it plans to open 200 new restaurants in Spain over the next four years. This is an ambitious growth plan from the current 630 outlets. The company, which has had a presence in Spain for 40 years, also plans to generate around 10,000 new jobs due to the new openings, which will be added to the current 27,000 workers.
Furthermore, and in order to meet the growing demand for staff at its restaurants during the summer season, McDonald’s España has announced that it will hire over 6,500 people this summer to cover this period. In line with the company’s expansion plan announced for the next four years and with its policy of retaining talent and internal promotion, these recruitments may be continued in new establishments as they open.
New employment opportunities
With this growth plan, McDonald’s remains firmly committed to maintaining its strong position in the Spanish restaurant industry. In addition to generating new employment opportunities, it will strengthen its presence throughout the region. The professionals who join the team will have a versatile position from which they will work across different restaurant areas.
One of the attractions of starting work at this chain is that promotions are always internal. Many employees are able to achieve positions of some responsibility at the actual establishments, and even positions in the corporate office.
Growing from day one
McDonald’s España’s Chief People Officer Alberto Unzurrunzaga says that the company is committed to its employees, “offering them quality employment and real opportunities to grow from day one. We invite all those who want to advance their careers to join our restaurants and do so with a leading brand.”
The company’s work culture aims to ensure a good working environment, flexibility, training and professional development as key factors for talent retention. It has an internal communication platform, called My Crew, to highlight the role people play in the company’s success. At the same time, it offers an ideal environment for those looking for a first job, those who need to combine work and studies and those who aspire to grow within a solid structure.
