Musgrave opens a logistics hub to consolidate its presence in Spain

It has invested 7 million euros in a 27,000 square metre building in Monforte del Cid (Alicante).
The Irish company Musgrave, which specialises in distributing and marketing ambient, fresh, chilled and frozen foods, has inaugurated its new logistics hub based at the Las Norias industrial estate in Monforte del Cid (Alicante), a step it considered necessary for its growth and to improve the service it provides to its customers.
Located on a 65,000 square metre plot, the new building has a floor area of 27,000 square metres, almost double that of its previous hub, which was located in neighbouring Elche. In total, the company has invested 7 million euros in this new facility, which it hopes will serve as a springboard to boost its business in Spain.
Ambitious growth plans
Group CEO in Ireland, Noel Keeley, puts the spotlight on Musgrave's ambitious growth plans. Specifically, the new platform will help it to further strengthen relationships with retail partners, customers and suppliers in the Levante area. In turn, the Managing Director in Spain, Luis López, sees a strategic role for the new headquarters, which consolidates the company in the national market and strengthens the market penetration of its brands, Dialprix and Dialsur, in the food and hospitality industries.
The Monforte del Cid logistics centre is already Musgrave's largest in Spain. At these facilities, servicing for the whole variety of products that the company sells in its establishments has been brought together: ambient, fresh, refrigerated and frozen products. The building also integrates the offices, which have a modern, functional design and have been equipped with advanced technology to improve the working environment.
In addition to reinforcing its operational capacity, the logistics hub has been designed according to sustainability and energy efficiency criteria. In fact, it has obtained the international BREEAM certification, which endorses its environmental credentials and respect for the environment. Its facilities include a self-consumption solar plant and chargers for electric cars. The entire building is managed through a BMS system that monitors temperature, lighting and other parameters that contribute to making the building more efficient and sustainable.
