Transgourmet boosts investment for Spain growth

The Swiss-based company has invested 85 million euros this year in several transactions to improve its positioning.

Food distribution company Transgourmet Ibérica, a subsidiary of the Swiss company Transgourmet, has invested 85 million euros in 2025 to boost its growth in Spain, according to the announcement made by its General Manager, Lluís Labairu during the 40th edition of the AECOC Mass Consumption Congress, held in Valencia.

The most important transactions in this investment package include strategically acquiring Dispuig and Moyà Saus, creating the company Nuditrans with Nudisco and constructing GM Cash at Mercabarna – a cash & carry for hotel and catering professionals, which is scheduled to open in March 2026. The company has also refurbished other cash & carry facilities this year.

A benchmark in food distribution
The aim of these investments has been to consolidate the company as a benchmark in the food distribution industries for its two main business lines: a hotel and catering supplier and a specialist in proximity and convenience stores. Expansion has mainly taken place in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Valencia.

As Labairu explained, acquiring Dispuig improved its positioning in the hotel and catering supply industry in Gerona, and purchasing the Mallorcan distribution group Moyà Saus has given it a role as a leading operator in HoReCa and retail in the Balearic Islands. As for the partnership with Nudisco, its experience in managing supermarkets in the Levante region has extended its reach in the Valencian Community.

Transformation process
Labairu added that, through these investments, the company has successfully completed the transformation process this year that began in 2019, “We have completed a stage in the process of modernising and consolidating our business model in both the retail and hospitality lines”.

Transgourmet Ibérica will celebrate its centenary in 2025 – a milestone that its general manager describes as “a source of pride and a responsibility. This anniversary reflects the strength of a company that has remained true to its values, adapting with agility to market changes and growing together with its staff, customers and collaborators.”
