The "Chinese FDI in Spain: global outlook 2026" is a report elaborated by ICEX-Invest in Spain, in collaboration with the China Practice of KPMG-Spain. This second edition of the report, following the one published in 2023, provides an overview of investment by Chinese-owned companies based in Spain, as well as their assessment of the economic and business environment in Spain, growth prospects and future investments, among other issues. The report, based on an anonymous survey answered by 82 Chinese-owned companies established in Spain and interviews with 8 managers of these companies, provides a snapshot of the companies surveyed. Data is provided on the type of establishment of the companies, geographical distribution, sectors of activity or investment in R&D in Spain, among other issues. It also includes the main reasons that lead companies to invest in Spain and the evaluation given by executives to the different areas of the business climate (size of the local market, quality of infrastructure, regulatory environment, availability of talent, etc.). Finally, the growth prospects of companies for 2026, business strategies and possible new investments are presented.
