The chemical industry remains one of the largest and most consolidated industrial sectors in Spain, representing 4% of national GDP, 12% of the industrial GDP and 6.7 % of the active employed population. With a turnover of € 85,417 million in 2025, 72,3% in foreign markets -up to € 62,926 million-, the chemical sector is now the largest exporter of the Spanish economy and the first industrial investor in R+D+i.
