SoftGuard plans to turn its Madrid hub into a regional benchmark for innovation and excellence in integrated safety management.

SoftGuard was born in the United States in the early 2000s with the aim of transforming the way alarm monitoring systems were managed. What started as pioneering software for central stations is now a globally implemented end-to-end technology solution. Today, it develops and markets state-of-the-art electronic safety platforms for monitoring companies, governments, corporations, security services, and public and private organisations.

After consolidating its establishment in Latin American markets and accompanying projects in more than 50 countries, the company has started 2025 with the launch of its first European subsidiary in Madrid. From here, it plans to expand across the continent, the Middle East and North Africa. The Spanish office will in addition become a strategic hub to provide direct and personalised support to its customers on this side of the ocean.

For what purpose was the Spanish subsidiary created?

The opening of the subsidiary in Spain responds to our international expansion strategy, with the goal of consolidating a direct presence in the European market and providing closer support to our partners and customers in the region. Our presence in Spain and Portugal dates back to 2008, with our alarm centre platform. But with our technological evolution, we wish to boost business development, generate strategic alliances and offer local technical support and training to ensure an efficient implementation of our solutions. From this new position, our goal is to position SoftGuard as a reference in PSIM+ (Physical Safety Information Management) platforms in Europe, replicating the successful model we have been building in Latin America and other regions. We seek to foster the growth of the electronic safety ecosystem, adapting to the regulatory and cultural specificities of the European market, and providing constant innovation in unified safety management.

How many jobs do you plan to create in our country?

The opening of the Madrid subsidiary reflects a strategy of sustained growth in the European market. This expansion aims to strengthen local presence, improve customer and partner service and foster innovation in electronic safety solutions. In line with this approach, it is reasonable to anticipate progressive job creation. This growth will enable SoftGuard to adapt to the demands of the European market and consolidate its position as a leader in PSIM+ solutions.

What investments are planned for growth in Spain?

Our arrival in Spain is part of an international expansion strategy that includes investments focused on strengthening our local presence, boosting commercial development and providing closer technical support. Our main capital is technological development and we do therefore implement a wide variety of options that will undoubtedly contribute to substantial growth for our customers.

When do you plan to start expanding from Spain to the EMEA region?

As I already mentioned, our presence dates back to 2008 with the implementation of our alarm centre software, at that time through local distributors. Aware of the importance of our project, we have chosen to participate directly and actively in the expansion from Spain to the EMEA region, which has been underway since the beginning of the year. Establishing our subsidiary in Madrid was the first strategic step to operate with a regional vision and develop a strong network of partners and customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Portugal is one of the first markets on our roadmap because we do with good reason have customers who have been relying on SoftGuard's alarm monitoring platform for years. Therefore, given their proximity and operational similarities, we are already working on growth opportunities. From this base, we seek to gradually expand our presence in other countries in the region, prioritising those with high demand for PSIM+ solutions and openness to technological innovation in safety. Our roadmap includes strengthening local partnerships, participation in key industry trade fairs and events, channel generation and ongoing training to ensure successful implementation of our solutions in each new market.

How important is Spain for the company’s strategy?

Spain occupies a key place in our global strategy due to its geographical position, its technological development and its potential as a gateway to the European market. Establishing a subsidiary here not only enables us to be closer to our customers in the region, but also to operate with an expanded vision towards Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Moreover, the language, business culture and opportunities for collaboration make Spain a strategic location to boost our expansion and consolidate our brand internationally.

What customer profile are you targeting?

We target a corporate and institutional client profile that seeks to centralise, automate and optimise its safety management. Our PSIM+ platform is designed to suit multiple verticals: from private security companies and governments to banks, hospitals, universities, the retail industry, industrial parks and smart cities. A prime example is Cirsa, a leading Spanish company in the global gaming and leisure industry, which has relied on SoftGuard to consolidate its security operation. Thanks to our solution, Cirsa has been able to integrate its systems, improve operational efficiency and ensure a fast and accurate response to any event. We work with clients who value innovation, scalability and comprehensive control of their operations, offering a solid and flexible technological solution that adapts to the highest standards.

What differentiating value does your software have to attract potential customers?

Our greatest differentiating value is the ability to centralise the entire physical and human safety operation on a single platform, without relying on multiple isolated systems. SoftGuard acts as a robust PSIM+, integrating alarms, video surveillance, access control, GPS tracking, IoT, workforce management, mobile safety apps and much more, all in real time and with a user-friendly interface. Personalisation, close attention and support at every stage of the project are also key factors that differentiate us and create long-term relationships with our clients. But if there is one thing that sets us apart, it is our permanent support for our clients. We understand that our technological differentiation will provide access to new markets and with it, the need to manage the attraction of new business models in which SoftGuard is already experienced.

How do you expect the Madrid hub to grow?

The hub in Madrid is conceived as a central hub that will grow in parallel with our customer base in the region. As we expand our portfolio, we will strengthen our technical support, business development and training teams to provide a more agile and personalised service. Our aim is for this hub to not only function as an operational headquarters, but also to become a regional benchmark for innovation and excellence in integrated safety management.
