AVANZA Plan A group of activities coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and aimed at promoting the use of new technologies in companies. This program offers subsidies for research, ongoing training for workers, no-interest loans for equipment purchases and grants for copyright protection. The program’s activities vary with each autonomous community. In Aragon there are specific grants for R&D&I, electronic billing and programming systems certification, among other things. www.planavanza.es
Savia: Venture capital. Via the state-owned company Savia, the Aragonese government offers 60 million euros in venture capital for carrying out investment projects.
Avalia: guarantees and mutual guarantees. The Aragonese government’s mutual guarantee company offers a wide range of guarantees, as well as a financial advisory and consulting service.www.avaliasgr.com
ICO-PYME credit line Interest rate subsidy of up to 0.65 percentage points for the first five years of the life of the loan, up to a maximum of 1.5 million euros per year, with the possibility of a grace period. This grant is managed via the Aragon Development Institute (Instituto Aragonés de Fomento - IAF). www.iaf.es
ICO-Entrepreneurs credit line This consists of an interest rate subsidy of up to one percentage point for the first five years of the life of the loan. The amount of the financing can total up to 100,000 euros per beneficiary per year, in one or several loan and/or leasing transactions. Regional Economic Incentives: Up to 15% of the investment.
A subsidy of up to 15% of capital expenditure for projects carried out in Aragon involving creating or expanding a business. This percentage may increase to 25% and 35% for medium-sized and small businesses, respectively.
This program is intended to foment economic activity in former mining regions. As part of the Miner Program, up to 15% of capital expenditure is subsidized for projects which create jobs. This subsidy benefits various municipalities in the eastern part of the provinces of Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel.
Productivity Improvement program
Grants awarded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (Consejería de Industria, Comercio y Turismo). Financing for expenditure connected with purchasing new fixed assets, industrial quality, and information systems and business management, up to a maximum of 15% of the investment.
Employee selection: Free.
The Aragon Employment Institute (Instituto Aragonés de Empleo - INAEM) offers a free employee selection service. Companies can take advantage of the institute's extensive databases and experience in major selection processes for companies such as Telefónica, Inditex, Expo 2008, Aragón TV and EDS. www.inaem.es
Direct grants for hiring: Up to €200,000 in 3 years.
These are cash grants managed by the INAEM and intended to promote employment stability. Companies can receive up to a maximum €200,000 over three years. The subsidies range from €1,250 to €10,000 per worker, depending on the type of worker hired. www.inaem.es
Training grants: Free
Training agreements with a hiring commitment offer a framework for selecting and training new workers. This subsidy is aimed at projects for creating or increasing business activity which will result in the hiring of at least 10 workers. The Aragonese government defrays up to 100% of training costs through the INAEM. Design of the training plan and trainer selection is carried out by the company. In addition, INAEM offers the possibility of using the Advanced Technologies Center (Centro de Tecnologías Avanzadas) to present training courses. www.inaem.es
Customized training programs enable companies to present training courses individually, together with other companies or with an outside training organization. Additionally, each year INAEM organizes training courses aimed at employees. These courses are free and cover different areas of business activity. www.inaem.es
Through the SEM Foundation, Aragón Exterior offers a service for streamlining the processing and obtaining of visas and residence permits for managers and workers from countries which are not members of the European Union.
