The Spanish Government has just approved the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) of microelectronics and semiconductors, with a public allocation of 12,250 million euros until 2027. Given the growing demand for semiconductors in key sectors such as the automotive industry or household appliances and the need to accelerate autonomy in chip manufacturing, PERTE Chip aims to strengthen the design and production capabilities of the microelectronics and semiconductor industry in Spain from a comprehensive perspective and favor national and EU strategic autonomy in this sector, in line with the provisions of the recently proposed European Chip Law.
