Danone launches first Spanish IT & Data hub

A team of 30 professionals specialising in technology and data analytics will drive its digital transformation

Danone has opened the fifth technology hub at its Barcelona headquarters since it launched this new strategy over a year ago. This is the company's first in Spain, joining France, Mexico, Poland and Malaysia. The new centre will focus on the innovation and digitisation of operational business processes, with the ultimate goal of driving the French company's digital transformation in the different regions in which it operates. It will also serve as a platform for professional growth for employees.

The hub will be staffed by more than 30 professionals specialised in data analytics and technology, as well as a sales team. The team is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Their work will drive the acceleration of the digitalisation process that has become an unavoidable need for companies in the 21st century.

Market strategies
Danone launched its plan to create a technology hub over a year ago. The various centres are designed to serve IT departments in the different regions, with the aim of improving their efficiency and creating synergies for the launch of new platforms. The IT & Data centre in Barcelona will in that sense seek to create synergies between global and local roles in order to consolidate market strategies in Spain and Portugal.

IT & Data director for Iberia, Nicolas Cosqueric, said, "We want technology and data to become Danone's major strategic differentiators by 2025, driven by an agile IT & Data organisation. This is why we have accelerated the consolidation of this hub in Barcelona, where digital projects will be coordinated and scaled up at a global level".

Cosqueric also explained, "Innovation has been one of Danone's differentiating elements since its inception. We have been innovating in all areas of our business for years, but now we need to accelerate the digitalisation of our company. We are setting up a space that will include people of different nationalities, where they will be able to grow, develop professionally and be in charge of digital projects that will lead the company's strategies in the near future.''
