Somfy opens new offices in Madrid and Barcelona

The headquarters remain in Catalonia, and deliveries will be controlled from the logistics warehouse in the capital
French home automation solutions company Somfy has unveiled its new offices in Madrid and Barcelona. The Spanish-Portuguese subsidiary chose the office premises and adapted them to create bright, open environments with employee comfort in mind. According to company values, this in turn leads to improved customer service.
The other key factor taken into consideration was sustainability, with both offices guaranteeing maximum energy efficiency to reduce environmental impact. The connected home systems marketed by the brand itself, which specialises in automatic control of openings and closures in homes and buildings, have been installed for dynamic control of façades and management of variables such as lighting, temperature and air quality.
Faster, more efficient deliveries
The new SomfyCenter in Madrid will serve as the company's logistics centre for the Iberian Peninsula, while the Barcelona office will continue to serve as the Spanish-Portuguese subsidiary’s headquarters. As Somfy Iberia CEO Andrea Ragione explained, “The new SomfyCenters in Madrid and Barcelona have been chosen and equipped in line with our key objectives: customer centricity, the well-being of our team, sustainability and excellence”.
The Madrid logistics centre is located in the town of Pinto, and has 2,000 square metres of warehouse space, 500 square metres of offices, 600 square metres of parking and another 600 square metres of outdoor areas. The company's objective is to ensure faster, more efficient deliveries, take advantage of stock availability and make it easier for customers to track their orders.
Albert Moles, Sales Director for Somfy Spain, explained that it is not just a logistics warehouse, “There is also a training space that we make available to all our partners where they can learn about our business, and where they can run their own training sessions, as well as a showroom space where they can see and test our connected home solutions”.
Open-plan space
The Spanish-Portuguese subsidiary’s headquarters have been transferred to Barcelona’s Zona Franca, and are now located in a building that meets the highest sustainability standards. With 900 square metres of open-plan space free from walls, the aim is to promote collaboration between the different teams. There are no fixed workstations, and the space is equipped with meeting and rest areas.
A training space and showroom complete the facilities, and offer customers a space where they can learn about the brand's solutions and offerings. Moles explained that “Our primary objective in moving our headquarters to Barcelona is to offer our employees pleasant, well-equipped surroundings adapted to current needs that create the best possible working environment. We want to promote synergies between departments and colleagues, so as to continue improving the service we offer our customers”.
