Textron Aviation strengthens presence with mobile service in Madrid

This will complement the work done at the Valencia centre to support business jet owners
Textron Aviation, the US manufacturer of jet and turboprop aircraft, has recently expanded its after-sales service by opening a new mobile service centre at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport. The company has a service centre in Valencia that provides maintenance for business jet owners, with 5,800 square metres of hangar space and 3,500 square metres of office space.
The new mobile service supports the work done at the centre in Valencia in response to the company's ongoing growth, currently maintaining a fleet of around 1,800 jet and turboprop aircraft on the continent. Like the satellite service that opened in 2021 in Stuttgart (Germany), the new centre in Madrid will handle minor service tasks, from troubleshooting to aircraft on ground (AOG) support.
Flexibility and rapid response
In its first phase, the opening of the facility in the capital is specifically aimed at supporting customers with Cessna Citation jets and Caravan turboprops. This will provide greater flexibility and speed up their response. Two technicians and a manager make up the Madrid team. The company employs a total of over 450 people across Europe.
The centre in Valencia has just celebrated its tenth anniversary. Originally established to service Cessna aircraft, the facility has grown to support Beechcraft King Air and Cessna Caravan turboprops and now provides a 24-hour customer service.
Aircraft customisation
Textron Aviation technicians specialise in scheduled maintenance tasks, including avionics upgrades and parts replacement, as well as battery and hydraulic servicing. In Valencia, they also have a sheet metal department, which manufactures and shapes metal for the fuselage, wings, and other vital components. They do in addition offer a painting service, from touch-up to polishing, chemical stripping and sanding.
Aircraft interiors can also be customised at the company's facility in Valencia, from interior reconfiguration to upholstery finishes, carpets, sidewalls, valances, seats, and other items.
