Carrefour increases summer hires by 4.2%

This summer the company will hire over 8,500 people throughout Spain to reinforce customer service
Carrefour has announced that it will hire more than 8,500 workers in Spain this year for the summer campaign. This figure, which is 4.2% higher than in 2022, will mainly be used to strengthen the direct customer service area. The positions available will include work on checkouts and counters, as well as at assisted points of sale in fresh produce, restocking, e-commerce and technology, etc.
The regions that will see the biggest increase in their workforce are the ones that experience the highest growth in their floating population during the summer season: Andalusia, Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Madrid and Murcia.
Candidate profiles
Students and young people looking for their first job are the usual applicants for these temporary jobs. Staff from a range of other backgrounds are also needed, and must be people with a clear sales and customer service orientation. Carrefour ensures that its recruitment process takes into account values such as diversity, talent retention and the promotion of employees' professional and personal development.
Last month, the retailer celebrated its 50th anniversary in Spain, reaching this milestone with over 50,000 employees on the payroll, and making it one of Spain’s largest employers. This year the company also received the Top Employer award.
