P3 Logistic Parks to build one of largest warehouses in Tarragona

The warehouse will occupy 111,250 square metres of the 175,000 square metre plot the company has purchased in Reus
P3 Logistic Parks, the investor, developer and owner of logistics real estate, has bought a 175,000 square metre plot of land in Reus (Tarragona), where it plans to build a 111,250 square metre logistics warehouse, the equivalent of 15 football pitches. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2024 and will last around twelve months.
107,900 square metres on this enormous plot will be used to house a warehouse, which will also have a clear height of 11.5 metres. This maximises the use of space. Its offices will occupy the remaining 3,350 square metres of the building. Created to provide warehousing and distribution services, the warehouse will have loading bays and parking spaces.
Logistical and strategic value
For P3, Reus is an area of high logistical and strategic value in Catalonia. It is located in the heart of the Mediterranean Corridor, five kilometres from Reus airport, ten kilometres from the port of Tarragona and one hour from Barcelona by road, and it has direct connections to the AP7, the A2 and the A7 motorways. The interest of national and international operators in this town will have significant economic impact in Tarragona and the Baix Camp region.
The project will have BREEAM Excellent certification, which guarantees the building’s sustainability. To achieve this, it will be lit using LED lights and will have an associated 1.1 MV of solar PV installed, plus other environmentally-friendly design features. Making best use of space, operability and energy efficiency are the main criteria for the construction of the building.
Commitment to the Catalan market
The Managing Director of P3 in Spain, Javier Mérida, said that this is one of the largest projects in the company's portfolio, and explained, “After four years of hard work, we at P3 are very excited to launch our project in Reus. With this development, we are strengthening our commitment to the Catalan market, and contributing to improving the low levels of availability of large-format logistics space in strategic locations for regional and international multimodal distribution”.
The mayoress of Reus, Sandra Guaita, did in turn state that “The logistics platform will become the largest business location in terms of space occupied in the city, and will have a significant economic impact for Reus and its surroundings. Furthermore, this operation consolidates the city as a high-value area thanks to its economic activity and strategic location, making it an increasingly attractive market for national and international operators”.
