Dekra demonstrates commitment to local talent with Málaga training centre

In addition to training its workforce, the centre will work with universities to educate future generations.

The inspection, certification and technical consultancy company Dekra has opened its Dekra Knowledge Center in the Andalucía Science Park, located in Málaga. This new centre will be used for advanced training of the German company's workforce, and will also contribute to the technological education of future generations by partnering with universities and other educational institutions.

The new centre is designed to promote lifelong learning, which the company considers essential to meet the challenges of the technology industry. It also aims to be a hub for attracting talent, specialising in high-tech industries and serving as a meeting point to strengthen the connection between academia and industry with events relating to technology, innovation and sustainability.

A firm commitment to Spain
The new Knowledge Center positions Malaga as a key hub in Southern Europe. The company's Country Manager for Spain, Alberto da Silva, describes it as “a firm commitment to Spain, in particular to Malaga and its potential”, explaining, “With this centre, we are not only developing internal talent, but also contributing to the future of young people in a highly competitive and technological labour market”.

Dekra Testing and Certification Managing Director Alejandro Torrecilla said, “We are proud to launch an initiative that will boost the development of local talent, as well as facilitate professional experience for both university and vocational training students”.

Job creation
The creation of the Knowledge Center reinforces Dekra's commitment to talent in Spain, which is at the same time supported by other figures: the company has hired 209 new employees this year up to November and has offered internships to 107 interns, compared to 193 hires and 71 interns in 2023.

Founded in 1925 in Germany, Dekra has a presence in over 60 countries. Services include vehicle inspection, product certification, safety audits, industrial consultancy and technical training. In Spain, it has a presence in several cities, such as Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza and Malaga, where it is involved in industrial and process safety activities, certifications and digital solutions.
