Driveco arrives in Spain to install 1,000 EV charging stations

The company plans to invest over 100 million euros over the next five years in rapid and ultra-rapid charging.
Driveco, which specialises in electric charging, has opened a subsidiary in Spain with the aim of expanding its network by adding 1,000 new stations. The French company sees Spain as a fast-growing market with ambitious targets for deploying charging points. It has therefore budgeted for an investment of more than 100 million euros over the next three to five years.
Driveco has in the meantime already signed preliminary agreements to install over 100 rapid and ultra-rapid charging stations in Spain. The opening of the new subsidiary has been announced in conjunction with those in Belgium and Italy. Its market expansion will also reach Portugal, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The transaction is the direct result of a financing round that raised 250 million euros, and which was designed specifically for this expansion.
Value chain
Driveco currently has 10,000 active charging points. With a team made up of more than 150 professionals, it manages the entire value chain, from engineering to construction, station operation and software development. The company directly finances and manages part of its network. For other stations, which it sells to its customers, it takes care of the installation, maintenance and management.
Through this formula, the company has signed agreements with companies like Carrefour, Airbus and Leroy Merlin. It now plans to do the same in its new markets, with offices focused on responding to their specific needs. The Country Manager in Spain, Christian Revilla, will be responsible for developing a strong sales network to position Driveco in the Spanish market.
User experience
Company CEO Ion Leahu-Aluas values Revilla's solid experience in electric mobility and added, “His alignment with our vision reinforces our position as a leader, focused on unrivalled quality of service, and offering drivers an exceptional user experience and absolute reliability”.
Driveco's charging points meet the different needs of users, with stations ranging from 22 to 400kW, suitable for all types of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and designed to optimise battery life. The user experience carries a lot of weight, with a reliability index that aims to facilitate a smooth, worry-free charging process, as well as offering facilities that combine performance and ease of use.
