The Palletways logistics company has moved its warehouse in Asturias, operated by Santos Logística, to new facilities in order to adapt to the growing demand for its services in the region. The new, more efficient and sustainable facilities take up more than 5,000 square metres on a 12,000-square-metre site. Located in the geographical centre of Asturias, it has direct access to the main communication routes.

The warehouse that has just been opened by the British firm, specialising in express distribution of palletised goods,  is equipped with state-of-the-art, innovative technology and has been designed and built to the highest quality and sustainability standards. The space is set out in an office area, common areas, twenty-four docks of various types and areas for storage, order picking, removals, cross-docking, etcetera.

Proximity and accessibility
Santos Logistica's managing director, Pablo Moran, said the sustainable features of the warehouse reflects his and Palletways' idea of a sustainable future, "We have had a clear objective right from the very beginning: to be a reliable partner for our customers, managing their logistics with proximity and accessibility, being supported by the structure of a large organisation and collaborating with the leading company in the express distribution of palletised goods. And too top that, with these new facilities we now offer a comprehensive logistics service of the highest quality and reliability".

The Asturian branch has also introduced a plan titled the Santos Eco project. It is, the director explained, a working philosophy that blends environmental sustainability into every one of its decisions and actions. This includes the use of advanced and renewable fuels, the incorporation of hybrid vehicles in cities, and reuse, reduction and recycling at all operational and administrative levels.
